Using its Scan Website widget, an extension to Safari, it’s easy to check if a website is phony before you enter any personal data. Here’s how to set it up and use it. After installing Trend Micro Mobile Security, tap the Safari icon on your iOS device to open it. Safari loads your homepage or the last website visited. Enter the URL of the website you wish to check and tap Go. The website loads. Tap the Action button (the up-arrow) in Safari’s bottom menu. The Action menu appears, showing various apps you can use, such as AirDrop and others. In the bottom row of Action icons, swipe left, then tap More. The Activities screen appears. Locate the Scan Website widget and toggle it to On; then tap and hold the drag lines on the right to drag the widget upward to the top of the list for easier access; then tap Done. Scroll to the left in the bottom row of Action items. The Scan Website widget should be first in the list on the left. Tap the Scan Website widget. Trend Micro Mobile Security scans the URL you previously entered and displays the Result screen. If the page is safe, Trend Micro Mobile Security shows “Safe Webpage” in the Result screen. It’s safe to interact with this webpage. If the page is dangerous, Trend Micro Mobile Security shows “Dangerous Webpage!” in the Result screen, with details about why it’s bad. Tap the X box in the upper right-hand corner to close the Result screen. If the webpage was bad, simply navigate away from it by typing a safe URL into the search field or use your Favorites screen to tap your way to a known safe site. Now that the Scan Website widget is active, in the future you’ll simply enter the URL into Safari and tap Go;
