Maori fashion designer Kiri Nathan is among big designers at
this year’s London Fashion Week. The British Council has paid
her way here to take part in a fringe fashion event along with around 100
other emerging talents. The Auckland designer
draws on Maori weaving techniques she has incorporated
into washable garments. And if she meets the right people, no doubt her clothes
will shoot off the racks. Her plan is to be back here one day
soon with a runway all of her own.
