Hello everyone, I’m Elena, fashion designer and retro dressmaker. Today I’m going to a Mass with the Archbishop together with my mom Gemma, also a seamstress, in the Duomo of Milan for the fashion operators! Subscribe to my channel and activate the bell to stay up to date on my sewing tutorials and my creative stories! Good morning everyone: we are here in front of the Mani di Fata store, in this beautiful window full of clothes for the little ones. We arrived in front of the Duomo, in a few minutes we will have to queue up in front of one of the entrance doors to attend mass. I am very excited because it is the first time I have attended the Duomo in Milan for a religious celebration. I often watch celebrations on television and it’s a place with lots of people. I’m afraid of getting lost! The archbishop explains: In an environment that wants to meet the challenges and become protagonists in business and creativity, inhabited by ruthless competitors, envies and rivalries, our context leads to armor with indifference towards the needs of others: This moment that we live is the favorable opportunity to love, overcoming the temptation of indifference. Then he continues: The dress for the occasion: is a desire to communicate with the dress that reveals: “I am happy to participate in this occasion, I feel involved, I wish to honor the invitation by presenting myself with a suitable dress”. The dress for the occasion can also lend itself to exhibitionism, to the waste, to the seduction, to the strangeness that can reduce people to dummies designed to show off the dress. High quality fashion is more intelligent and constructive. He interprets the person, envelops her with dignity, enhances her beauty with the discretion of good taste. In short, it qualifies the occasion and the meaning of participation in an event. I think of the words of my parish priest this morning: in a world where one lives in appearance and aesthetics, it takes courage to go against the current and to care about others. These words of Msgr. Delpini will be my mission in my profession as a fashion designer!
