can you tell me more about your design?
Ya, I’ve been making jewellery for 30 years and making it here in Toronto
so everything’s locally made. Our collections are vast we have a large
Bridal following in Toronto as well as the US where we sell we have fashion
jewelry including some of these. That’s nice these are great and some of these can be
worn as long necklaces as well. So you can layer them stocking rings are also, a big thing and then it’s the higher end fashion So just so you know, we do carry other designers in the store
but everything that we’re obviously featuring is Anne’s works today so all
of this is other friends that we carry here but here we have our evening,
holiday evening glam. So there’s a few collections here so these are all
one-of-a-kind rings. They are all Rose cut diamonds and sapphires so Anne hand
selects these stones herself and then creates pieces.
so there’s only one of, so once it’s gone… Where do they collect the stones? All over the world. A lot of our
rose cuts do come from India but you know this is one of my personal favourites, it’s black diamond. So
stunning. We do have some obviously statement pieces here from our bamboo
and Stardust collection. 18 karat yellow gold diamonds. and then this is from our newest collection petal
collection. so it’s inspired by flowers. A lot of her collections are organic inspired by nature So this is the newest collection. Things like that so, yeah.. You were a goldsmith?
don’t do the bench work anymore but I am a trained goldsmith. For how long? just thirty years. That’s a long time. And how did you decide to do this? You know I always made things
with my hands and I started making tin and brass and copper jewelry and my
teenage years and I deferred university studies to take a goldsmithing course
and it was a three year program so I did that and just slowly started making my
own work and I developed a clientele and then I opened my first store in 1992 Wow
had two stores running concurrently that one on Markham street. This one’s been
here for 14 years. Is it all in Toronto? all in Toronto yeah but we wholesale
across the United States and the United Kingdom. Where do you sell to in the States? Mostly independent stores, no department stores at this point but all
locations, art galleries sort of more fine jewelry stores how many stores are there in Toronto?
how many stores… of mine? Just this strore… yeah. Is this the flagship?
This is the flagship… and we carry other artists’ work as well These are the wrap-style bracelets and they can be worn as a
necklace or you can wear as a bracelet… So they’e all semi-precious stones and a
little 18-karats. So each piece has one 18- karat. Yes. I can always… always feel free to try them
on if you want. Some styles here for you to try…What’s the price point like? Everything here this is kind of like our bigger bolder pieces I mean they
start at anywhere from like you know something like this is a thousand
dollars upwards something like this is you know probably closer to twenty
thousand Canadian so it just depends but yeah and yeah this one is a
black diamond but you’ll notice kind of this is our
day-to-day everyday wear and our collection starts at like you know two
hundred dollars for a charm, and it kind of goes up so there’s a there’s a really
good range just kind of depending on what you’re looking for what you’re
finding to wear the keys for so yeah this is an example of how we would make
a ring so we make an original in silver and then we make a mold of it and then
we can repeat the mold by injecting it with wax
and this is the result then we can cast it in whatever metals are making the ring in.
So this one, is in rose gold aqua marine all our stones are ethically sourced. and
all our rings are designed to stack with other bands so any of these bands so you can get different looks in
between and that’s what a lot of our brides do. They’ll want something that’s
kind of interesting and funky a little bit of texture So the longer you grow your fingers the better. Yeah, exactly.
